About Government Finance
Governmental finance can be broken down into three primary functions:
The City’s annual budget preparation begins in January of each year and ends in May with the adoption of the budget. The City’s fiscal year begins July 1 and ends on June 30. Careful budgeting allows the City to provide the services the citizen’s require, while living within our resources.

Annually, after the completion of the fiscal year, the City’s independent auditors complete a review of City finances and operations. The goal of the audit is to receive a “clean audit opinion”. We are happy to report the City has always received a clean opinion.
